About these Terms of Use

These Terms of Use describe what you need to know and understand about your rights and responsibilities as a user of the Hub Dashboard. By registering and accessing your Hub Dashboard, you are agreeing:

to be bound by these Terms of Use; and
to comply with all of your responsibilities, as set out in these Terms of Use.

Responsible Agencies for the Hub Dashboard

The Hub Dashboard is a service provided by the Department of Defence. The Hub Dashboard displays information about you and your proposal. This information is used by the Department of Defence in the administration of innovation proposals. It will also be used by the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS) within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science to answer queries about the progress of your proposal.

Changes to the Hub Dashboard and these Terms of Use

The Department of Defence may change, add or remove any of the functionality of the Hub Dashboard, or to make changes to these Terms of Use at any time. If a new version of the Terms of Use is issued, you will need to accept them before accessing your Hub Dashboard.

Your responsibilities

Accessing your Dashboard

To access your Hub Dashboard, you will need to:

be a natural person;
use your User Account details and;
ensure your personal details (including your name and email address) are accurate and kept up to date.

You must not:

access or, or try to access or link to, any other person’s Hub Dashboard; or
allow any other person person who is not authorised to access your Hub Dashboard account on your behalf.

Keeping your User Account details safe

You must:

keep your User Account details secure at all times and not share them with any other person; and
not allow any other person to use your User Account sign-in details. If you think that the security of your User Account sign-in (for example, your password) has been compromised you should notify us immediately.

Responsibility for access and use of your User Account

If you do not keep your User Account sign-in details secure (see the "Your Responsibilities" section), and someone else uses your details to access your account, you will be responsible for everything they do with your access.

If you intentionally allow someone else to access your User Account, you are accountable for all activity undertaken.

How you must not use your Hub Dashboard

You must not use your Dashboard:

in a way that infringes anyone else’s rights or prevents them from using their own Hub Dashboard;
in any way which may harass or cause distress or inconvenience to anyone;
to cause disruption to the Department of Defence;
to post or transmit unlawful, defamatory, obscene, offensive, or scandalous material;
to participate in any illegal or fraudulent activity; or
to post or transmit materials that breaks or encourages breaking the law.

If you use your Hub Dashboard to undertake any of the actions listed above, your Hub Dashboard access may be locked, suspended or terminated. You may also be subject to civil or criminal penalties.

You must not use any software (for example, bots or scraper tools) or other automatic devices to access, monitor or copy your Hub Dashboard or its contents unless given written permission to do so by the Department of Defence.

Information you provide on your Hub Dashboard

You need to provide complete and correct information when creating and using your Hub Dashboard.

Providing false information to the Hub may result in prosecution and civil or criminal penalties.

Availability of your Hub Dashboard

Your Hub Dashboard will be unavailable at times for scheduled maintenance. Notification of planned outages will be posted on the main screen.

Our responsibilities

What we are responsible for

The Department of Defence is responsible for ensuring the security of:

information while it is being collected by, stored on or passing through the digital service; and
the links from the digital service to systems under the control of others.

What we are not responsible for

The Department of Defence is not responsible for ensuring:

that data in your Hub Dashboard is error free;
that any defects in your Hub Dashboard will be rectified; or
that you will have continuous access to your Hub Dashboard.

The Department of Defence is not responsible for any loss that could arise as a result of your use of your Hub Dashboard.

Security

Information on the Department of Defence’s Innovation Hub system can only be accessed by the personnel who are authorised to access this information. Access to the Innovation Hub system is monitored; and personnel are trained on a regular basis about their privacy and security obligations.

Privacy

Your personal information is protected by law, under the Privacy Act 1988 and is managed by the Department of Defence as set out in Defence’s Privacy policy.

Update Your Details

Your Hub Dashboard allows you to update your contact details.

General

Termination of your User Account

The Department of Defence may lock or terminate your access to your Dashboard at any time.
